Something Wicked This Way Sucks

Ok, my friend let me borrow Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury because she remembers reading it when she was still in school and really enjoying it.
I thought this book was published in Sucktown.
The writing was all over the place with random important action sentences interspersed among way too much imagery. Charles' speech to the boys in the library reminded me of someone who is in the late stages of alzheimers and has also spent the afternoon smoking from a crack pipe. Why is this man such a Debbie Downer? I found this character to be really out of place and poorly developed. For some reason I had trouble keeping Jim and Will straight. I didn't feel like Bradbury did a thorough job explaining why Jim REALLY wanted to get on the merry-go-round even after everything that happened. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but this book seemed to jump all over the place and yet still be boring.
